There comes a time in life when you have to let go of all the pointless drama and the people who create it. Surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad and focus solely on the good. Afterall, life is too short to be anything but happy.

So Ive been letterpressing this evening, producing my own xmas cards for the xmas art fayre were doing on the 16th December, Mark has really helpfully let me go in in the evenings and use the letterpress facilities, for this I cant thank him enough, myself and Mark had a lovely meal at Bar Wok with Stuart and my friend Justin, also a graphic designer, was nice to have some intelligent and funny conversation, i love and miss those guys. & Bar Wok is always amazing.

So Ive worked on HO x 3 cards this evening, more different quotes, xmas greetings to come…

Sorry about the rubbish photography, quick but sweet.

We finally graduated this week too, woo hoo. It was  happy day and a great night out, only wish my friends didnt have to live so far away, i miss them all  so much and university a hell of a lot. So I guess I should pop some pictures of that up too, it was an experience.

This is Adam, one of our tutors, this man is amazing and I thank him and love him for all his support, in and out of university. He really is one of the loveliest people Ive ever met. Just decent!

Quick bits and bobs..

November 13, 2010

So obviously I have been really busy with the exhibition but I have had a small break this week, been working on odd bits and bobs for different things so this is what Ive got…

The first is a poster/leaflet for Stan from Urban Sports and it all he wanted was a simple design to give to schools, halls etc so this is what I made quickly on Tuesday night. It does the job. I like my handmade type and city landscape illustration.

Secondly, I have drawn an illustration for a company called soft32, they wanted a geek so I gave them a geek.

Ive also designed a leaflet for kids sports parties but Im still working on that.

Exciting news!!

We’ve been asked to exhibit in January in Oxford, with West Ox Arts, the people included in the exhibition line up are amazing, working in London and for bigger compnaies so could be a good thing for us. So I feel really priviledged. Weve been asked to do an installation which is even better!

Alice is the girl organising it and her website is : www.alicesaunders.com.. nice website, also look at Will Clarke, amazing illustrator who is also exhibiting with us: www.willclarke.co.uk.  They loved our work so exciting times!

Were also working with Cheltenham Museum and Art Gallery who have a project for us in the new year so meetings are arranged for that and we are also doing their xmas art fayre/market in December. Sorted.

Ive sold three pieces of work from the exhibition too so Im very pleased and very greatful.

Cath Kidston craft night wednesday, thriller live thursday night..busy busy times. But good times. Better start making some things!

I am really proud of us. We organised a really successful exhibition and now people know who we are, what we do and what we like. I dont think we’ve had negative feedback yet. Which is good.

It looked like this:

About 80-100 people came.

From Bloomsbury to Bennington

September 29, 2010

Been working on some leaflets and private invitation for our exhibition, the private view- invite only is the 15th October 2010 at 7pm and it will then be on from the 16th to the 28th for 2 weeks, open 10-4 everyday and is at 25, Bennington Street, Cheltenham- the old printers. Really hope people like it, its P.S. Design Studios and Friends, a exhibition of graphic design, illustration and fine art.

So we have an exhibition in October. Listen up for updates on facebook about who is exhibiting when the private view is and who is getting an invite. You special special people.

Urban Sports- finished.

July 28, 2010

I finished the logo for Urban Sports, I think it’s quite cute and does it’s job well. We got business cards printed today for Stan so he’s been handing them out and said that everyone loves the logo so that’s a good sign. He now has a blog too which is up and running, next a website which I think I will design too, with the logo being animated so the characters come alive, should be sweet. His blog is www.urbansportsglos.blogspot.com. I had to change the head of the robots as, as they were they were too similar to the new LG robots which I hadnt seen until Rach saw them so we thought we’d change it. I still think they look clean and cute though. Colours come up dodgy on here though, think it might be my photoshop.

lovely. I’ll put a pic up of the business card when Ive got one.

We also had a lovely meeting with David Myerson last week, he was very honest- which I like, and gave us many a good idea about getting clients. Speaking of which we have managed to get another client, an interesting one, with lots of interesting work to do for it, including packaging design/ sewing and crafting and handmade labels. That’s what I like.

This is the website of our client- Tracy, see what you think of her cute creations: www.su-lin.edicypages.com

So my fella has his own sports coaching company, teaching all sorts of sports and breakdancing. Thought it was about time I did some work for him and his business. We wanted something that would be eyecatching, fun but also not too serious like all over coaching companies, using the usual cliche of silouhettes of people playing sport or just the typography using ”urban” as the theme. That wasnt happening, so at the moment Im at the stage of the process that he picked the fav 3 out of the ones I designed and were creating something from that.

We have this for the moment:

Photoshop again has made some of the detail and colour a bit shabby but alls good. I think it could look sweet on a business card, and animated on a website. We shall see after Ive worked on it a bit more. If anyone needs a good coach for schools or a teacher of breakdance than hes your man, hes actually an amazing teacher ( not that I let him know I think that) but he is and Im looking forward to helping him find more work.

Had a lovely meeting with Naomi and Mark at Pink Sky ( www.pinkskydesign.com) yesterday, we went in to have a meeting about starting up, life is a bit hectic at the moment, we shall hopefully be collecting the keys for our opening exhibition space next week too, time to get a floor plan together and to pick who want to be included in it. Exciting stuff!

I like being busy, lots of things to be concentrating on, not a lot of headspace for anything else at the moment! Cant wait to start making things for the exhibition but also having other meetings with other designers too. Were visiting  Mr David Myerson at Hurricane design ( http://www.hurricanedesign.com) next week, I swear he knows my face but not my name so it could be interesting! so plenty of coffee and chatting about taxes and fees haha!

Life is a bit different now. A good different nonetheless.

I like the weather when it’s sunny, everyone seems so much happier.
